Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Treats

I realize that the tag line on my blog says “nutritious, delicious recipes for everyone,” but the nutritious part is not ALWAYS true. Sometimes, you just want to eat something delicious and not so nutritious or low in calories. I made this for a NYE pot luck last year, and it got rave reviews.  I think I ate about 5 when I was taste testing just to be sure.  Chocolate and peanut butter together is one of my favorite combinations in food. I’m trying to decide if I should bring this to the NYE pot luck next week, or if I should bring my leek dip……

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows (or one package of large marshmallows)
  • 1/2 cup Smooth peanut butter
  • 5 Regular Crispy treats cerea
  • 1/2 cup Reese’s cut up
  • chocolate chips
  • peanut butter chips

  • In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, or melt in a double boiler.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Add peanut butter, stirring until combined.
  • Add crispy treats.
  • Spread into a 9×13 cake pan.
  • Top with cup up Reese’s.
  • Melt chocolate and peanut butter chips (separately) and drizzle on top (or in the case of the peanut butter chips shmear.)
